Jeffrey Nursey: A Story of Transformation, Business, and Comebacks Some people build businesses because they see an opportunity. Others build them because life forces them to become someone new. For Jeffrey Nursey, founder of New You Naturals and The New You Miracle Band®, life has been a journey of transformation, resilience, faith, business, mistakes, comebacks, relationships, and second chances. And if there is one message that has followed Jeff throughout that journey, it is this: Daily Decisions Determine Destiny. Every day we make choices. Some seem small. Some change everything. Over time, those decisions shape our health, our relationships, our businesses, our character—and ultimately our destiny. For Jeff Nursey, that is more than a motivational saying. It is something he has lived. From Setback to Comeback In 2007, Jeff’s life changed dramatically after a devastating road-bike accident. The injuries were severe. His recovery was long. There were moments of tremendous pain, uncertainty, frustration, and fear about what the future might look like. It was the kind of experience that can cause a person to ask some very difficult questions. Why did this happen? What happens next? Can life ever really return to normal? But eventually Jeff began learning something that would become one of the defining lessons of his life: A setback can become the setup for a comeback. Recovery did not happen overnight. There was no magic switch. There were difficult days. There were mistakes. There were victories. And there were many small decisions to keep moving forward. Eventually, friends and customers began calling Jeff “The Miracle Man.” For Jeff, that nickname is not about claiming to be perfect. It is a reminder that people can survive things they once believed would defeat them. They can rebuild. They can change. They can become stronger. They can be transformed. The Beginning of The New You Miracle Band Jeff Nursey went on to build New You Naturals, LLC, the company behind The New You Miracle Band®. The company grew from Jeff’s interest in wellness, frequency, energy, recovery, and personal transformation. But somewhere along the journey, something else became even more important. The relationships. For Jeff, customers are not numbers. Retailers are not account numbers. Employees are not simply labor. Business is about people. That philosophy eventually became one of Jeff’s most important principles: People Before Profits. Profit matters. Every business needs to make money to survive. But Jeff believes profit should never become the entire purpose of a company. A business gives us a platform. The real question is: What are we going to do with that platform? Are we going to encourage people? Are we going to help our customers? Are we going to support small businesses? Are we going to treat people with dignity? Are we going to admit when we make mistakes? Are we going to become a little better tomorrow than we were today? For Jeff, those questions matter. Why Independent Health Food Stores Matter Much of The New You Miracle Band’s growth has come through relationships with independent health food stores and specialty retailers throughout the United States. Jeff has a special appreciation for independent retailers. Why? Because independent stores still offer something increasingly difficult to find in today's world: Human connection. When you walk into a great independent health food store, someone may actually know your name. They listen. They ask questions. They educate. They make recommendations. They remember what you purchased the last time you visited. And sometimes they simply take the time to care. That matters. At TNYMB, Jeff believes supporting independent stores means supporting: local families small-business owners local jobs healthier communities personalized customer service entrepreneurship human relationships Big companies can compete on size. Small businesses compete with something different. Heart. Transformation Is a Process Jeff has become increasingly interested in the idea of transformation. Not instant transformation. Not overnight success. Real transformation. The kind that happens one decision at a time. Jeff often talks about the Japanese principle of Kaizen. Kaizen means continuous improvement. A little better today. A little better tomorrow. Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep moving forward. That philosophy applies to health. It applies to business. It applies to relationships. And it applies to life. You do not have to completely reinvent yourself tomorrow morning. Sometimes you simply need to take the next right step. Then another. Then another. Daily Decisions Determine Destiny One of Jeff Nursey’s favorite sayings is: Daily Decisions Determine Destiny. It sounds simple. But think about it. What we do repeatedly eventually becomes who we are. The foods we choose. The people we surround ourselves with. The books we read. The thoughts we entertain. The words we speak. The promises we keep. The calls we make. The people we forgive. The habits we develop. The opportunities we take. The risks we avoid. The next right thing we choose to do. One decision may not change your life. But thousands of decisions certainly can. That is true personally. And it is equally true in business. Great companies are rarely built because of one brilliant idea. They are built because people make thousands of good decisions consistently. Faith, Hope and Moving Forward Faith has played an important role in Jeff’s life. One Biblical passage has become particularly meaningful to him: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Transformation begins with how we think. Our thoughts influence our decisions. Our decisions influence our actions. And our actions influence the direction of our lives. Jeff believes faith does not mean life will always be easy. It means difficult seasons do not have to have the final word. There can still be another chapter. Nobody Gets Through Life Without Mistakes Jeff will be the first to tell you: He has made mistakes. Business mistakes. Personal mistakes. Decisions he would make differently today. But there is an important difference between believing in perfection and believing in progress. Jeff believes in progress. Life teaches us. Sometimes gently. Sometimes painfully. The question is not whether we have ever made mistakes. Everyone has. The question is: What did we learn? Did we become wiser? Did we become kinder? Did we change? Did we make better decisions afterward? That is where transformation happens. Setbacks have upsides One of the themes that has become increasingly important to Jeff is the power of Comebacks People need them. Businesses need them. Families need them. Sometimes entire lives need them. Jeff does not believe anyone should be defined solely by his greatest accomplishment. And he does not believe a person should be defined solely by his worst moment either. A human life is much bigger than one chapter. It is a collection of successes and failures. Victories and disappointments. Good decisions and bad ones. Relationships. Lessons. Faith. Loss. Love. Growth. And second chances. Business Can Be About Something Bigger Over the years, Jeff’s definition of success has changed. Revenue matters. Growth matters. Profit matters. But those things are not everything. Jeff increasingly believes: Business gives us a platform. What we do with that platform to help other people is what really matters. That may mean helping an independent retailer succeed. It may mean encouraging a customer. It may mean helping an employee grow. It may mean admitting a mistake. Sometimes it is simply treating someone better than they expected to be treated. Those moments matter. Becoming an Author and Speaker Jeff’s experiences have also led him toward writing and speaking. His work explores subjects including: Faith.Family.Friends.Fresh Food.Fitness.Focus.Fun.Frequency.Leadership.Business culture.Continuous improvement.Decision-making.Second chances.Personal transformation. Among his writing projects are Be Transformed and Ducks in a Row. Both projects come back to a similar idea: You do not have to have your entire life figured out today. You simply need to begin making better decisions. Get the important things lined up. Put your ducks in a row. Then move. Looking Forward Today, Jeffrey Nursey continues building The New You Miracle Band, supporting independent retailers, writing, speaking, learning, and working to become better. There are still dreams ahead. There are still goals. There are still lessons to learn. And there will undoubtedly still be mistakes. That is life. The goal is not perfection. The goal is transformation. Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep helping people. Keep believing. Keep moving forward. Take the next right step. And remember: Daily Decisions Determine Destiny.
